Adolfo Sardina Biography

Born Adolfo Sardina i Cardenas Cuba in 1993, Adolfo immigrated to the United States in 1948. His career megan and an apprentice millinery designer with Bergdorf Goodman followed by stints at Cristobal Balenciaga in Paris and and apprentice with Chanel.

In 1962 Adolfo branched out of millinery and expanded into women's custom clothing followed by mens and accessories in 1978 and perfumes in 1979.

In 1993 Adolfo closed his custom shops in favor o f concentrating on the huge network of licensing agreements. New York Society, including C. Z. Guest and The Duchess of Windsor were distraught. In 1995 Adofo returned briefly to debut a limited collection through Castleberry.

Adolfo design awards include the Coty Fashion Award, Neiman Marcus Award. Adolfo is a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America CFDA.
