Billowing wide-leg or daringly flared trousers, dream-like asymmetric chiffon dresses and embellished showgirl pieces sit side by side, creating a collection that celebrates the wonder of the fantastical and also harks back to a glamorous disco era.
Bold colour and hyper-real photographic prints are key, with rich oranges, ambers, tans and reds at the fore. A smoke print carries through the collection, reminiscent of ink falling through water and complete with flying horses, and can be found on an angel-sleeve tunic top, a wideleg palazzo pant and a delicate frock coat. An over-sized smoke print dress in silk georgette has a tulle overlay and is trimmed with reflective piping, reminiscent of the reflection of light on orbs and crystals.
The theatrical spirit of glam rock can be found in an all-over-sequin cropped, flared jumpsuit, whilst a metallic cotton all-in-one, a wool tank top with gold lurex thread and a lilac metallic trouser suit evokes the best of disco glamour. Trousers and jeans are flared, and often cropped, emphasizing the ankle. The new kick flare legging in stretch jersey comes decorated with a smoke print or emblazoned with fantastical golden horses.
Tulle adds an ethereal dimension, and pieces often feature cape detailing. A wide-leg smoke print jumpsuit has a tulle cape sleeve, whilst a hot iris print decorates a cropped sleeveless top with a long fluttering cape attached. A foil spray paint print decorates a billowing silk chiffon blouse with a net capelet and a strapless dress in silk chiffon. A jumpsuit, a dress with an asymmetric cape sleeve and a pair of wide-leg trousers in the finest sheer tulle look as if they have been splattered with red paint.
Stand-out pieces take inspiration from the showgirl era and demand to be worn on stage. Dresses are daringly short from the front, with long sweeping hemlines at the back. A sunburst spray print comes decorated with brightly coloured crystals, which cluster around the neckline of a playsuit and embellish a showgirl bodysuit with an asymmetric strap. A strapless dress has a cracked black jersey bodice with a tulle underskirt, and another bodysuit in cracked black jersey features skin-revealing cut-outs. A smoke print swimsuit features a tulle asymmetric cape, whilst a print silk georgette hoodie adds drama.
Amongst the colour and print, several pieces stand out in purest white a strapless dress with an asymmetric hem is decorated with pagan-inspired black macrame leather around the neckline, whilst a laser cut white cotton playsuit and dress evoke lazy summer days. A sequin waistcoat has a celestial white tulle overlay.
Laser cutting, embroidery and macrame techniques add texture and interest. Suede pieces in rich reds and browns feature intricate laser cut pegasus shapes. Denim jackets, cropped jeans and shorts feature more macrame, heavy rips and shredding on acid washes in pretty pastel colours. Knits are fragile, laddered and appear almost ghostly; an origami-sleeve piece appears to have totally unraveled over the arms until it rejoins at the cuff, and a long fine knit dress evokes cobwebs. Pegasus and cherub characters are hand-embroidered onto cream silk pieces.
Accessories are tough yet beautiful. Necklaces are realized in intricate macrame leather, whilst rings feature large cut crystals. Bags are made from handwoven leather and feature macrame tassels, long fringing and crystal clasps. Footwear has perspex wedges so the wearer appears to be walking on air: a leather sandal features multiple ankle straps, whilst a peep-toe sling-back in woven leather compliments the bags, featuring more macrame detailing and tassels. Swimwear is either in bold prints or covered in a foil effect, and includes a hot iris print bikini and a foil print red one-piece which appears to be covered in black tar.
